On Friday, August 5th 2011, Erratic proudly presents its inaugural bash by hosting a unique and rare event showcasing the very best of modern Techno: Perc’s recent “Wicker & Steel” album release party, alongside a special 2-Hour Live Set by fellow label mates and duo Donor & Truss. This will take place in the -basement- of Stay (which is fully air-conditioned and you access via the main floor), centrally located in the LES of Manhattan. The night will open up to the hypnotic beats of Chanski, followed by the deep and dark sounds of Donor+Truss’ LIVE set, slowly building the nite and prepping the crowd to climax inside the small, rustic basement with Perc’s hard and intense culminating act.

Ali Wells (aka Perc), hailing from the UK, is a globe-trotting DJ and supremely refined producer who has recently taken the Techno scene by storm: he established his own label, Perc Trax, in 2004; released a plethora of sophisticated, top-notch EPs and remixes on both CLR and Stroboscopic Artefacts in the past 24 months; and, most notably, has just regaled the Techno community with his impeccable debut LP “Wicker & Steel” on his own label –which has only been out since June and already gained tremendous accolades across all major EDM portals. Ali has been crafting his sound for nearly 10 years and is characterized by robust, industrial basslines occasionally juxtaposed with a vibrating dub undertone –making it unique, fresh, and ever-changing. His influences are as vast and diverse as his sonic preferences are encompassing and intense, ranging from Detroit to Birmingham and from Underground Resistance to Cabaret Voltaire. To top it all off, PERC’s most recent CLR podcast is a true testament to his talent and skill.

Greg Schappert (DONOR), a native of Brooklyn and cosmopolitan of Barcelona and Tokyo, along with Tom Russell (TRUSS), a fellow Brit himself, epitomize in their Live PA together the current sound of Techno that is so appealing, insatiable, and invigorating –that which is represented, most basically, by the dark and driving, the hard yet minimal. Both of their respective productions and remixed works can be catalogued across Miniscule (Donor’s own label), Synewave, Perc Trax, and most recently Stroboscopic Artefacts. In essence, their synergy is ultimately complementary and builds upon each other’s style, delivering a performance that is extremely seldom yet certainly stellar.

Tim Chan (CHANSKI) is a local DJ who has hosted events of his own under his self-established Pollinnation emblem and a veteran to the overall NYC underground scene. With a natural penchant towards deep, dark openings, he intertwines these hypnotic and penetrating waves with his own unreleased productions that exhibit a contagious yet very distinct acid flare to them.
